It's a tiny hole, Dr said 90% chance it would close before he is born... Just wondering if this happened with any of your babies to make me a little more confident about the situation.
Thanks

We had the same when I was pregnant and we were devastated. A hole in the heart runs in the family and a niece of DH's spent years in and out of Great Ormond Street hospital as a result of this. His nephew also had the same and whilst he spent some time in hospital as a baby and still has the hole, he passed his army fitness tests a few years ago and has had no health issues. The doctor did tell us that it would most likely close before the baby was born. He said a lot of babies were born with this and it closes during their first few years. When we went for the next scan at 32 weeks the hole was only half of the original size. By the time our LO was born, it had closed completely and he is perfectly healthy. Did they tell you what size the hole is? Try not to stress about it. You will probably find a difference by the next scan as the baby grows and develops. edited by Niggly on 15/11/2011

Hi, We had the exact same thing at our 20-week scan. I was quite worried, but the doctor told me the same thing, and by birth, hers had closed up. No further testing/scanning or anything was required, i had a totally normal birth and she was discharged as normal. She is now a healthy, loud, busy, almost 1 year old. Bubs will be absolutely fine, please don't worry yourself :-)

Thanks I think you will be OK, there is a person I knew who had similar problem and they live just fine. Sending hugs and prayers your way.

I had a boy in my class with a hole in his heart, and honestly he was fine. I just had to make sure he does not get too hot and sweaty when he was running around outside. Had to keep him well hydrated. But he lives a normal life. I'm sure your little one will be OK. Big hugs

My cousin was born with a hole in her heart, she is now 21 and still has the hole! So there is a HUGE chance all will be okay :)
