Thanks a lot ladies :) yes she is exclusively breast feed (directly, not through pumping and bottling). Thank God to know it's nothing to worry about. Strangely enough Kiwispiers, sometimes i just cuddle her on my chest and she will burp, more so than the whole drama of putting her over the shoulder and rubbing and patting her back! She farts a lot though :p has to come out somewhere i guess LOL
Breastfed babies often don't need to be burped, if she's happy don't even bother trying.
I spent ages trying to burp my son and eventually realised he was no more or less happy for having burped. With my daughter I pretty much just cuddled her after a feed and if she burped that was just a bonus.
Very normal...I used to worry about it too... DD didn't start burping till 3 months of age, although it still advisable to keep the aby upright after every feed, even if she doesn't burp...
Mine didn't either and I even took him to the doctor for it. The doctor actually laughed and said it was normal (especially with if exclusively breast fed, not sure if that's you) and to count my blessings.
Enjoy it :)
If she is happy and not distressed then you need not worry :) My kids were both windy and would scream in pain if I didn't burp them properly. Think yourself lucky ;)
REALLY! LOL. I was so worried! My first baby so as you can imagine :) i even wake up several times in the night to check if she's still breathing! LOL. Thanks for the advice :*

Hi ladies. I have a 3 week old baby and after every feed i put her over my shoulder and try to burp her but only maybe 1 time in 10 she will actually burp. I keep her for 5-10 mins rubbing her back and patting it, i also try sitting her upright on my leg and doing the same, and lying her on her stomach and also doing the same. She doesn't seem to have trapped gas or anything and there's nothing wrong but i'm wondering if it's normal and if she's really ok?
