I remember my daughter would take a bottle when needed and then all of sudden refused. I gave it a break for a while and then tried again and just kept persisting, eventually she accepted it. I have also heard people say to get someone else to offer the bottle as they sometimes will accept it this way. What teats do you use? I always used the Pigeon peristaltic teats which fit on both the Avent and Mam bottles, they mimic the way a baby would attach to the breast (well as close a possible), perhaps trying a new teat might work if your baby has become attached to the breast?? Good luck :)

Firstly, don't ever give a baby juice in a bottle, it's terrible for their tooth development. I know a couple of children who's baby teeth came through black from being given juice in a bottle. Have you tried someone else giving him the bottle, your husband maybe? Or just slipping it in his mouth when he is asleep or very sleepy?

Looks like he acquired a special taste for the breast :D Good luck trying. My daughter never took the bottle, she simply refused to suck on artificial nipples. I tried several ones and would pump and throw my milk ( which hurts) until solids started at sixth month and would mix my milk with her cereals and even then, the first month was a struggle. So good luck but don't despair if he doesn't take it again. Solids are starting soon... But why did you stop alternating it would have been easier to use the bottle when you have guests...coz I recall with mine, since we never used the bottle, it was tough on me when there were visitors as often I get stuck in my room nursing, especially that mine wouldn't let me cover her with the nursing cover. Anyways, wish you all the best. They say give it a break a few days and retry ( didn't work for me). But honestly I enjoyed ebf :)

Hello ladies! i need your help! I know a lot of women breastfeed their babies and give the bottle as well. I was doing the same with my baby boy until my husbands parents came over 4 weeks ago. I stopped giving him the bottle so theres been a break of about 3-4 weeks. Now he simply refuses to take it. He sees the bottle and just seals his lips really tight. I tried everything! I expressed my milk and gave it right then so its still warm, I tried giving sweet juice just so he likes the taste and latches onto the bottle nipple, tried keeping him hungry, tried changing the nipple but nothing works. He doesn't even get to whats in the bottle. The nipple touches his lips and he closes his lips very tight. and if i trick him and get the nipple in his mouth he cries his heart out (which scares me that he could choke on it) and doesn't suck on it at all. I really need him to take the bottle again! Any ideas u have that i can try? Would really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance! :)
