I also found this site http://www.babyandbump.com/pregnancy-first-trimester/ very helpful and reassuring. Its a busy busy forum and there is always someone posting just what you were thinking about :)

It can be twingy and crampy for a few months at first and then every time bubs has a growth spurt. Your body is just stretching and growing and things are moving around in preparation for making way for your growing baby :)

From experience, the only reassurance that made any difference to me was that of my doctor. I know you probably don't want to bother him or her for every little twinge but it's understandable that you're nervous and need reassurance! And they do understand this :). Mine was lovely at making me feel better with all the little things I worried about. It's all new first time round! Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

Yes, I had all sorts of weird and wonderful feelings in my stomach in the first trimester. Sometimes period-like pains, sometimes sharp pains, all sorts. For me I think it was my body getting used to all that activity in there! It was worrying, especially first time round.
