Hey there. My lil one has up been up all of last night with a cold and dry cough and I think he has throat pain as well. We met dr syed of city hospital and he prescribed adol drops if his temp reaches 38 . Also he gave ocean spray saline drops for the cold. He has a temp so I gave him the adol drops but now I feel worried I did the wrong thing. : ( I'm a first time mom and I feel terrible abt him being sick already !

How is he today, elnino? Oh thank you so much for asking !!!! I came online to check what you guys were saying and frankly I'm so so upset. His fever is down but his cough is horrible and he seems to be gaggin every time he coughs ! I know there s phlegm inside but I guess he can't bring it out I m hoping he vomits it out. So so worried I have no clue what to do. The doc said to wait it out since u can't give a 6 week old antibiotics or cough meds but if worse comes to worst we ll have to go with the antibiotics : ( . I'm giving him the saline religiously like you said but his nose is still blocked. Honestly feel so upset

Oh...and give the saline as often as you can. By keeping his nasal passages moist and the mucus moving, you'll help him to recover faster. :)

Adol contains paracetamol/acetaminophen (same drug, different names) which is perfectly safe for babies from one month old if given the correct dose. Like all medications, too little is pointless, too much could be dangerous. As long as you have followed the Dr's advice (AND carefully checked the label for dosage advice), there is nothing to worry about. The Adol will bring the fever down and reduce any pain your precious little one is feeling. I hope he's on the mend very soon. Remember to take care of yourself and rest when you can. Baby needs a healthy, well-rested Mummy too. :)

Oh no, don't feel worried! It's horrible when our little ones aren't well, but really and truly don't second guess yourself for following doctor's orders. Hugs to you, and to your little one. Hope he's on the mend already. xx
