I also delivered with Dr Andrea. Could not recommend her enough. Very practical, straight forward. IMH staff was very friendly as well. Had a very good experience. The only thing I missed at the time was a proper 'Lactation Consultant'. The nurses do try and help but a specialist would be worthwhile in my opinion. Had a very hard time with breastfeeding. Anyway, it is your second one, so it may not make a difference. All the best!

no this is my second... I had my first DD at Zahra hospital in Shj, but i'm staying in Dubai now & would like to deliver in Dubai. I'm still in my 10th week, lets see about the doula, but dont think I would need one. I have a big family here who are always supportive in all the ways. Loves & Huges....

You will get your own suite, actually all the maternity wards are suite...there is a separate room of sofa for your guests to rest/sit or you to welcome your guest when you can move..you are encouraged to move... oh..there is also a separate tele in the 'sofa room' if that matters... the nurses are great with me... Because I did my ante-natal classes at the hospital, given by a midwife, she was also there when I was in labour.. Everyone was very friendly, from Dr. Andrea to the midwife to the paed nurses to the housekeeping ladies and even the ladies who brings in your food... Dr. Andrea came in to check once in a while during the labour period but the nurses are always on call to her.. I didn't really mind as I had my DH and my doula to accompany me during the labour...(get a doula!!! ) Dr. Andrea made the whole delivery smooth and stress free ... you won't regret her.. Oh..the paed nurse comes to check on your LO, they take your LO at night, which I truly recommend as you have your WHOLE life with LO later on ;), ask them what time they give LO's first bath so that you can learn as well, if you have any problems with latching, call and they will come in... they were truly amazed that I walked to the nursery the next mng.. hehe... The other set of nurses who takes care of the mum comes in with pain relief, check if you are ok all the time..

She was my doc.. and I can't recommend her enough.. while pregnant, she will tell you only what you need to know.. she always asked me if I've got any questions and I said no as I don't wish to confuse/get myself worked up with what ifs.. she's got a great sense of humour altho you need to find it to get her cracking..lol IMH is great!! Let me know if you have specific questions and I'll gladly share!! S
