Aussie passport for newborn - do I need a birth card?

I have completed the entire passport form for my LO except one question. It says list drivers licence (which obviously an 8 wk old doesn't have) OR birth card (which they state is different from a birth certificate). Do I need to go to the Australian Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages to get this card? I already have LO's birth certificate and Aussie citizenship docs.
