my 18 month old has started getting more violent from past 4 days. He wants what he wants at the exact moment otherwise he hits. Is it because of change in environment as we have just returned (10 days now) from month long trip to Canada. he is also teething as he so far has only 8 teeths. he has stopped eating and after much coaxing,firmness eats only 2 times a day. just keeps on drinking milk.
i thought that hitting and screaming stage would pass but its been 2 months now and it is just increasing. Our patience is very near its end. when he hits i hold his hands gently and tell him that it hurts. but he keeps on wriggling and then hits more. so far he was limited to us but now who so ever comes to our house, he hits first , then after few minutes starts playing. we have stopped going out and its driving me crazy. just yesterday one neighbour came to wish diwali, i was telling her dont pick him up but she picked him up and he slapped her. she was angry and said that i should not encourage such behaviour and need to be firm with him...ok so this was embarrassing as despite telling my baby no he kept on hitting but i don't want to be too strict with him. i feel like i am at a loss here as my husband and i are getting into arguments now because of his behaviour. he says your gentle approach is not helping at all. you should rethink :( \
please tell me this phase passes away and i just need to hide at home for some time with buckets of patience.
