Hi Ladies

DD is 4 months old and has had her vaccinations so she is ready for her first swim in the kiddie pool. I had a quick look in the shops today and could not find any swim wear - all the stores are stocking winter clothes (even though it's still over 35 degrees here!).
Could I please have some recommendations as to what swim wear I need to buy for her and where I can get it from? Can you get special swimming diapers? Don't want any nasty spills in the pool!

thank you
M

Thanks Krulka and jc2010. They only had the 14kg Huggies Swimmers at my Spinneys on the weekend so I have to keep looking around. DD is almost 7kg.

just a swim nappy and tank top is a good idea. Be careful with the UV swim suits, or cotton tee's. they are great in the water but on windy days they actually can make the kids quite cold when the kids are wet and held in your arms half out of the water or are playing on the deck. Imagine how you would feel wearing a cold wet shirt on a windy day... you cool off very quickly. =)

I found the size on the packs of Huggies swim nappies were too big, i think they started at 7kg so i didnt use those. I found smaller ones in boots. Matalan is also quite good for swimmers and Next

You can also get cloth swim nappies from sports shops. Decathlon in MCC has swimming costumes & UV tops all year round and not too expensive. edited by MirdifIngrid on 29/10/2011

You would need Huggies little swimmers nappies & if you can't find swimsuit, cotton t-shirt (or nothing at all) & sunhat will do. She is 4 m.o. only, so she will only need your hands to feel comfortable & safe in the water for now. Oh, and don't forget kids sunblock.

Don't want any nasty spills in the pool! thank you M Hi, We bought uv swimming suits (the type that cover the arms and legs) we got one from mothercare and one from Spinneys (in Motor City). We also got a swimming hat there with the flap that covers the back of the neck. Beyond Beach have swim suits for wee ones too (although more expensive). We use Huggies little swimmers for nappies in the pool - they just tear off once you are finished swimming. Also i bought little floats (for babies) from spinneys. Hope this helps. P.s if you want a first stage float that your baby can sit in in the pool you can have my one - it was only used once and now my DD has outgrown it. Im in the Ranches
