http://www.kathmandu.com.au/Packs_&_Luggage/Child_Carriers/40342/Karinjo_Child_Carrier.html this is the one we have, very padded, DS is 10.5 kg and already waaaay to heavy for the BB IMHO, the pack itself is very lightweight and quite padded. It has an inbulit sunshade etc too.

thanks - it has to be a child carrier, as DS is nearly 1 and already weights 12kgs. We have the BB for a normal child carrier which he is too big and too heavy for now. I'll check some of these out on the web. Thx!

I second ERGO carrier for back carrier. I would search on youtube to give you the easiest instruction for carrying LO on your back ... caa must item for me when travelling with DS alone.

A regular toddler carrier or a proper toddler back pack? For toddler carriers I loved the Mei Hip. You LO rests on the hip but you can also swing it round and have your LO on your back.

Not super light but I would recommend Ergo. Its been fantastic for our little one and I know plenty of people who have toddlers, swear by it. But just a word of caution, mentioning this just in case anyone planning to buy Ergo is reading this..please be very careful in case you are deciding to buy a used one from Dubizzle. There are people selling fake Ergo's in original box with instruction manual etc.
