My 10 mo ds bites me a lot, though so far he only bites me, not dh or other kids. I asked my paed what I should do about it and he said that I should bite him back! I haven't done so, I just doesn't feel quite right to me, but you could always try that. I think my son is biting more out of teething pain and affection than aggression, so have been trying to give him alternative things to chew on and teach him how to give kisses. Do you think yours was a teething issue or was he mad? I'm not sure what you do if they are doing it out of anger. I wouldn't worry too much about the other family, I do think most parents realise that these things happen with small children. Good Luck and let us know if you figure out how to stop this.

Dont worry Sarah!! I was there when the Mum arrived and the maid told her, she didn't react angrily, and didn't seem upset. I think she just figured that happens when babies get together!!

My 10 month old DS bite his older sister this morning, she gave him a good telling off for us. Just hope its a phase and to be fair he was hungry!

Thanks, I did forget to mention he actually made the other boy bleed he bit so hard! Lucky he hasn't bitten be that hard yet but I'm sure it will come soon enough. I really hope the maid looking after the other boy doesn't get in trouble. I felt like i should do more i.e write a note to the mum to say sorry, but though this stuff happens and decided not to, now I wish I had.

I feel your pain Sarah, my 16 month old DD is also biting, although she seems to just bite me or my DH - esp when she gets frustrated and/or doesn't get her own way. Thankfully she hasn't bitten another child but I'm under no illusions that it may happen soon. I raise my voice and tell her its bold and I try and stay cross with her by ignoring her for awhile but to be honest it doesn't seem to matter to her. Its so hard to discipline them at this age as they don't understand. Persistance is the key I guess. Curly
