Dear All,

Hi I am new to this forum's website though an old timer in Dubai. Just wanted to know if anyone has had a positive result with Bourn Hall clinic? We are due for an appointment next Thursday. Just wanted an idea about the success rates. (Wish there was some Fertility Authority in Dubai/ UAE!!) Prior to this we used to go to DGFC, Dr Mohd Kalyoubi, and a fertility hospital in Jordan.

Hi Ladies, My husband and I have so many stories to tell about our IVF experiences in and out of Dubai and i felt there is a lacking of a IVF or (Hope for Baby) support groups in Dubai. It is mandatory in the UK and the US to be part of a support group while going through the IVF cycle. It is not mandatory here though but will be very benefitial. We can create a group, send out our message to the community , hold monthly meetings face to face and eventually invite doctors from the medical field to share with us their latest findings. If you are interested, please email me to [email protected]. I am ready to host our first get together! Looking forward!

Hi Jade. I agree their facilities as well as the western style communication is very impressive. Why we have decided not to return is very specific and personal to our case and not really an overall opinion of their abilities or professionalism. They are a new clinic and openly concerned about success rates and establishing their reputation in the region. I was told by one of the staff members that they were very worried that everyone so far through the door was over 35 because they wanted to get their numbers up and that group is not an easy "get". As a result they seem less inclined to treat or pursue difficult cases. They treated me with a protocol which failed after four days to produce a good result. They then merely repeated the same failed protocol which of course failed once again and then told me I was beyond help. Fair enough as I am not an easy case. We had initially sought out an alternate clinic precisely for the reasons described in your response below - transparency, ease of communication and a more western style medical environment. They do that to a T but in the end, for us at least, results and an aggressive doctor bent on success with us as well as the easy gets are more important than an attractive environment. edited by fandrew on 27/12/2012 Sorry to hear that Fandrew. That's terrible! I've just started seeing Dr Fakih. I'm older and he is certainly up for the challenge. Can let you know how it goes. Best of luck. I know how hard it can get. x

Hi fandrew thanks for your reply. We went to see them on the 21 st last Thursday- we were really impressed with the quality of the doctors and lab staff as well as the facility and their communication after the appointment when they sent us test results. I usually find it so hard dealing with these Ivf clinics and asking them any questions outside appointments. Would you mind telling me why you wouldn't go back.
