Children are exempt from the law, at least that is the case in Doha. Even the local children eat freely in public during Ramadan. I know.. t'was just to let OP know that I haven't been sent down for BF in public as was her original query!!

well I wasn't arrested yesterday at Dubai Mall for *gasp* breastfeeding DD and then feeding her her lunch.. all in plain view and *whatwasIthinking* during Dhuhr prayer. I fear we started something as an elderly (looked like a tourist.. camera/backpack) couple sat next to us and cracked open a bottle of water!! DH gently explained the dangers. :D

lol, pentel, if we go down, at least we will be together lol, and laura, hahahha you are giving away my top secret identity! lolj/k... remember when tat guy tried to have a peak at baby shop? haha... iff anyone tries to do that on ramadan they need to pray for more than just their lusty needs, they may need to pray for mental help and a rack, without a baby's head attached lol! (sorry girls laugh at my self a lot.)

I was pregnant last Ramadan and ate when I needed to, I didn't flaunt it but I didn't go hiding in the bathrooms either, this year I'm breastfeeding and if I need to take a drink whilst feeding the baby I will. BF makes you ravenous and also in this heat you can't wait to quench your thirst. Try not to worry.

: ) thank you, i thought of that too... i just find that bf makes me so hungry and dehydrated, sometimes i get really dizzy if i don't get any food lol more so then when i was pregnant.. but you are right i can always go to a nursing room to eat, i don't mind nursing my dd in public, especially if its not illegal. lol if anything happens, i will update here, if i am not in jail lol but i doubt it will with the info you are providing me.

i'm muslim and also find the complete shut down unnecessary. i am not fasting now as my babies are just one month old and wasnt fasting every day when bfeeding my DD. However, i didn't eat and drink openly because i didn't want to have anyone else make me feel uncomfortable or even deal with the issue of police if someone reported me. There are some restaurants open in the day and prayer rooms, feeding rooms, even fitting rooms in the malls where you can nurse and drink relaxed... thats just my recommendation.

please, please carry on as normal! feed your baby wherever you need to. I wouldn't hesitate to take a drink whilst feeding my baby in public.... if anyone takes offence at you feeding your baby that is their problem. my DH is an arab muslim who is fasting and finds this whole shutdown quite ridiculous.

i heard mixed things about breastfeeding in public (covered of course) is it allowed, and are bf women allowed to eat in public as well?
