I'm thinking of getting a breastpump.. for occasional use, just to get baby used to the bottle..
1 - I tried the same with DS and he always refused to bottle. How can I have better luck with baby2?
2 - I have used the Avent electronic one before and I found it quite tough really to pump... I hear medela is quite good.. any recommendations as to which one? And any idea of approximate prices? Anywhere I can get a good deal this DSF?

Medela is really good. Unfortunately you just missed the Babyshop Winter sale, that always ends before DSF. The next decent Babyshop sale will be end of June inshaAllah.

Hi Shaf - I have used the Medela Swing for both my girls and it's been great. Most recently used it for full time pumping when LO in hospital. Prob should have had a double one, but think it's probably one of the only single ones that can cope with that kind of usage and is still going strong. It's v compact and v handy as can use it with batteries as well (battery life I thought was pretty good). Have seen it in Babies R Us as well as Baby shop.

I haven't used the swing - but I use the Medela Double Electric - I love it! Babyshop have a sale (kind of...) if you spend Dh200 you get a voucher for Dh50 to use within 2 months in Babyshop.

Hi Shaf - I second the Swing recommendation. I paid AED 815 at Babyshop a short while ago but hopefully you can get it on sale. Babyshop was having a DSF discount but am not sure if it's still running, sorry. Good luck!

shaf , medela swing is one of the best in that market. It is really good, pumps really fast and doesn't make much noise. It is really easy use and to clean. I bought my one from UK, so I don't know where to get it from here. I paid about 80 pounds from Amazon. I did not have much luck with bottle feeding my one though. Health visitors advise was to establish BF first, then around 3 months to offer bottle few times a day, they would cry and spit it out at first, but to continue to offer, it worked for my sister, her baby is both BF and takes the bottle. Babies that use pacifier, take better to bottles. As for me my LO, he just chews the teats and tried the sippy cup with the same effect. :(
