Hello Kitty, I have considered reusable but do not know which brand to consider. What would you recommend looking at ? Are there disposal liners used inside the actual reusable nappy which absorbs most the boel motion as the case may be ? I have twins who soil quite frequently which is a good thing. TIA There are lots of different brands on the market but I used the Motherease ones. They're formed a bit like disposables with poppers to attach at the sides (other brands have velcro) and have elasticated legs. You buy liners separately and yes, just flush them down the loo. It's also recommended to have a few "outers" which are waterproof covers that will protect everyone's clothes. I never had any problems with leakage, but never quite got the hang of it, so stopped using them. I have friends, however, who used cloth nappies from birth until potty-training. Washing-wise, you just make sure the worst is off before popping them in a bucket of water (with a lid) to store them until you have a machine load. Then you just wash them like anything else with detergent, but no softener at 40 or 60 degrees and hang them out to dry in the sun (preferably) because it helps bleach them. You can buy them new, but there's also a good second-hand market. I think a few women on here use them, so it may be worth trying to get in touch to see if you could borrow some to see how you get on (or if they're selling theirs!). All the various brands are much of a muchness with various different details (like fixings) but at the end of the day, they all do the same thing. Some come with integrated waterproof "outers", which, thinking about it, may suit you better, even though they'll take slightly longer to dry.

have you considered reusable nappies? I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but they'd offer considerable savings if you're using 400 disposables a month! How many babies do you have and what age?

Anyone know where one can purchase formula and nappies in bulk? Currently using over 400 nappies a month for my babies so economies of scale would be appreciated or even just reliable supply. It can be hit and miss with getting the right nappy size consistently so having bulk supply woule eliminate need to try 2 or 3 shops.
