Passport application is underway and it should be back soon but there won't be enough time to get a residency visa before they travel. Does baby need some kind of exit permit?!

Yes you need to go to the immigration department and get an exit stamp in their passport. So much easier if your husband goes. They gave me a hard time as mine wasn't with me. It's really fast once you've had the documents typed (there is a typing place there). If you both go, you can go in the ladies queue, and that speeds it up too. Then your husband can just sign quickly. You have 30 days to transfer their visit visa into a residency visa when you return, but Im not sure if that depends on your nationality. Have a good trip :)
