I believe it will be ok if 80% of the base is on the seat. But I am an old Mother and past car seats, so if you google it you will find it is a common worry.

We have the same seat and it fits the same in our cars. Our installation was checked in the States by a certified car safety technician and she said it was installed incorrectly. It is completely safe for the base to extend beyond the front edge of the seat. Your major safety concern should be that when installed the base cannot shift left to right and has a tight fit. Put your knee on the base as you tighten the strap for the isofix anchors. If you have a good, tight fit and no movement, stretching out beyond the front of the seat is no problem. Just be sure that the front of the seat has a bit of clearance from the back of the front car seat as this seat isn't supposed to be forceably braced against the front car seats. Thanks very much Meagle. I was so worried! I'll go now to check the tightness and let hubby make any adjustments. Really appreciate it xxx

I'm afraid I can't help you with your specific car seat but I brought by car seat (&car obviously!) to Just Kidding on SZR and they checked it all for me and made sure it was ok. We did buy our seat and base there but it was weeks later when we were fitting it & they never asked for any proof of purchase or anything - they're extremely helpful and knowledgeable in there. It may be worth a try if you're not happy with it HTH

Hi ladies, today DH installed our car seat into my FJ Cruiser. however, the FJ back seats are not huge and the base of the car seat actually comes out past the seat a little bit. I went over the manual but it doesn't say anything about it. I feel it's not safe at all, it just doesn't look right to me. Can anyone advise about this? The car seat is Graco SnugRide 30.
