Why don't you try babywearing? Get yourself baby sling or ergonomic carrier, and try to carry her on your back, probably she will not stand in the front as she is not young baby. Then you could wash the dished , clean the house and do whatever you need and your LO with you. There is facebook group, where you can get some help. And try diffrent types of carrier to see if it works for you. It may seem counter intuitive but the best way to make her feel more secure is to spend more time interacting with her, if you are doing a chore, leave her in tiny bursts, always returning for a kiss it a smile BEFORE she gets upset, at her age its normal she wants to be close to you and be held a lot, don't be afraid to hold her too much, a baby who feels like get mummy will always be there did her us a baby who will in time be confident to explore on her own. I know it can be frustrating, I have been known to push my baby around the house in get pram or wear her in a sling when shes feeling clingy. Some babies are more people focused than object focused, and are not all that into toys, especially girls. She might enjoy a mirror, so she can look at get own face, and you could make a recording of yourself singing to her that you could play on your DVD player when you really need to get things done.

I had the same probs with my DS at around the same age! He's now 30! I couldn't move for him but he was whinging and crying. I gave him lots of attention and cuddles in between doing my daily chores at home, then popped him in his bouncy cradle or onto the floor with his toys saying brightly "Ok, mummy has to (whatever) so you have a play and we'll go and see grandma later" etc. I sang silly songs and chattered away, ignoring his crying! I reckon that at this age, our little cherubs know exactly how to push mum and dad's buttons! Old fashioned perhaps but it worked! He used to howl blue murder when I went out leaving him with daddy but the minute I was out of sight, the tears were switched off like a tap! It's important to socialise babies from a young age too. Mine were farmed out to grandparents and family on regular basis. Difficult I know when family don't live nearby. Good luck :)

My DD has always been very clingy but now she's just getting worse! I thought by her age (8.5 months) she would be able to play on her own for some time, but she can't! She likes being held but I don't do it a lot, I sit and play with her, but the second I leave she starts crying and getting upset until I come and sit with her. If I leave her on the bed with her toys and I'm 4 feet away on the computer, it's still not enough, she needs me there next to her playing. It's not just with me, she's like that with everyone, she needs someone with her all the time. Since it's just me at home and DH is at work most of the day, I have to be with her the whole time, I can'y get anything done, even kitchen work I put her in her high chair but after 5 minutes since I'm not next to her and I'm moving around, she gets upset and cries and flings her head back (very dramatic!) until I come to her. Same for her jumperoo, I cant ignore her when she's in it she wants me talking to her. I'm not sure how to encourage her to play on her own. I'm getting her a playpen, but even then I'm sure she'll want me sitting inside it with her! Any help/advice really appreciated
