Cutting out the 4 am feed

My DD is 14 months. Since last month, I have been giving her a bottle of milk at 4am(gave her bfeed before). She doesn't drink any milk during the day except breastmilk. This is the only sneaky way I could introduce milk to her diet. I heard that giving milk to baby at night is bad for their teeth. Is that true? I really want to cut it out now, but don't know how to. I tried not giving it one night, she screamed for 30 mins and kept waking up every 30 mins and crying (so she must have been hungry). She has dinner at 7 pm, she is in bed by 8 pm.

How can I cut out this feed?

When we were trying to get DS to sleep through the night we reduced the amount we gave him at this feed until he just didn't bother waking up. We initially planned to reduce by 5ml every 5 days, but I accidentally dropped the bottle one night so we ended up reducing it by 30ml in one night and from there, it was only about two or three more days before he stopped waking up.

Breastmilk is not cariogenic in the same way that cow's milk is. Might replacing the cow's milk feed with a breastfeed be an option? If not, you might find some of these suggestions for night weaning helpful: http://www.askdrsears.com/html/7/t070800.asp Good luck! Let us know how you get on. xx
