It took me 9 months to gain my baby weight (around 18kg) and exactly 9 months to lose it, so the cliche is true. It dropped in sudden bursts every so often (like no weight loss for 2-3 months and then suddenly 3-4 kg in a few weeks). Be patient, it's depressing but looking back I'm glad I didn't kill myself trying to lose it. A dietician is a good idea though.
