Has anybody heard of Dr Annika ? Apparently she is at Dubai mall but can't find any reference to her? If you have heard has anybody got any feedback?

Thanks

Just saw Dr Annika, had a great experience and am definitely going with her for delivery. She was caring and knowledgeable. She seemed genuinely interested in me and my bump. Definitely recommend her :)

Sorry LB79 Only just seen your message. Dr Annika was straight talking but listened to you and seemed very nice. Did you meet Dr Britt? If so they were quite similar in how they cameacross. She was also keen on my privacy ( somebody tried to interrupt our time but she wouldn't have it which I appreciated!)

Cherryblossom: How was Dr Annika's personality? Was she abrupt, soft, sweet, straight to the point? How long did she spend with you for the consultation? thanks :-)

Dr George's fees: 550 AED Consultation 1000 AED for US 10000 AED for labour care. We have one price for the delivery and this covers the care of your labour (IOL, normal vaginal delivery, instrumental delivery, repair of perineal tears- episiotomy, CS and the post delivery rounding fees - these are my visits to see you at the hospital post delivery). Hospital charges are charged separately from City hospital and can be directly paid from your insurance and they are the following NVD - 2 days stay 8021 + 2550 (epidural) + 1000 (pharmacy costs) total hospital charges; 11571 CS - 4 days stay 16042 + 1500 (pharmacy) total hospital charges ; 17542 If you give birth using a City Obgyn, here there the costs: AED 11902 normal birth & pharmacy costs AED 23287 c-sec & epidural costs & pharmacy costs.

I met with Dr Annika today for the first time and she seemed very nice and pro natural birth. She even said the lovely phrase 'its your body'! When the economy is down apparently the rate of Caeserians go up! medical practioners can charge more for a caesarian than a natural birth

Dr George's place doesn't do direct billing with insurance companies but I can fill out the forms and claim mine back (Arab Orient Nextcare) . Bit of a pain but if he's as good as everyone says, then it's worth it. I've asked for a price list, so will post on here if I get it. I have sent all my friends to dr George and they all converted. I wish I could klone him and have him at home during my whole pregnancy. I will check with my insurance company how it will work and how long it takes before I can claim back the money, since I have 100% direct billing at City Hospital it wouldnt financially make a lot of sense for us to pay out of pocket. Very unfortunate!!

Dr George is the best doctor in the world, lol.. no wonder he charges a fortune. Just out of curiosity, are there any insurances covered by his clinic? If you want to stay at City i discovered a really nice doctor there who is also a fetal specialist, her name is dr. Azzizunisa. If my insurance doesnt cover dr Georges clinic I will stay with her. She is genuine + reachable on her mobile for advice and very willing to reassure at all times.

Are you guys going to go with her??? If you have an appointment please let me know what she's like???! I also got recommended dr George but supposedly he is more expensive than city and the prenatal is not covered at his clinic by my insurance! Annoyed with city as shouldn't really have took me on with dr britt if she was leaving! X

I was also advised to try Dr Annika in Mediclinic in Dubai Mall by Dr Britt (as she's leaving). Dr Annika is also Swedish, perhaps that's how Britt knows her too. Britt also recommended Dr George Michailidis who now has his own clinic next door to City, so I've booked my 20 wk scan with him. I'm also due in Sept

Will send you her biography we got from the clinic I'm due in June and only found out by chance so quite disappointed with City at the moment. Do you reckon we've only been advised to see Dr Anikka because she's new and therefore doesn't have many patients yet?
