No I used the Maya...they didn't have the mini monkey (Remember this was over a year ago)...But I do like the look of it, b/c 1 it is adjustable and 2 / it has that rolled edge.....Why don't you ring the girls at Bubsboutique and ask them about it? they have always been really helpful when I have had Q's......I found them very honest

I used the Mia (I think) ringsling, which I really liked b/c it is adjustable. I bought it online from a crowd called bubsboutique (A dubai based online retailer like Babysouk). I just checked bubsboutique website. They have now the mini monkey sling. Can that be the one you used? http://www.bubsboutique.com/shop/Mini-Monkey/ It's looks really great and easy to wear! edited by Kermi on 07/03/2011

I bought my ergo from Amazon, as I don't think Babysouk had them when I got mine....I think they started stocking them just after. If you can afford both - I would get both, the Sling was a life saver in those first few months...esp in the afternoon when I had stuff to do with DS, but DD was fussy - she would sleep for an hour, hour and a half against me. If you are wanting to use the ergo in dubai though I would recommend you get one of the lighter weight ones - I think the sport? I wish mine was one, but ergo hadn't launched them unfortunately. The other thing is every so often there is a "Baby-wearing" workshop...they are held at the organic store....I went to one when DD was a few weeks old and that really gave me a lot of confidence, lots of ladies who really know how to use the various carriers helping you feel comfortable with them

I have used both a sling and a baby carrier......for the first few months ( when you need to use the infant insert) i used the sling a lot more. It was just easier to use a sling, with the infant insert, and the ergo carrier i felt it was a bit warm here. Having said that, once we got past the infant insert stage, i used and still use (dd 14months) the ergo baby carrier all the time. It was and is fantastic when travelling, i highly recommend it. Also i have ordered lots of stuff from baby souk and found them fab. So if you want something that will last long time , go for the ergo........ Thanks Mrs. Laughan, gr8 to hear that u`ve tried using both. Which kinda Sling have you used? Can i know if you can find this sling and ergo carriers in some shops other than the online shopping????

Peanut Shell Sling...read about it and quite impressive. Am actually confused on whether to go for a Sling or Ergo baby carrier when travellng with the NB. Is the peanut shell sling similar to the infantino baby sling? If yes, I saw a post reg. a recall on here: http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=139375 Hi Kermi, Its not the same. Quite different. Thanx for highlighting this matter.

I love the Ergo carrier and have used it with the infant insert to fly with my LO at 7 weeks. Never used the sling so cannot compare..but I also bought the Bjorn carrier recently and think thats also great for a younger baby...very compact. But personally I dont think Bjorn would be comfortable once the baby is older and weighs above 8 kgs..so its only one that you would buy then I would say Ergo is a better choice. Rgding the newborn set...seems like a good price to pay for the extras. Would just like to add..do check the airline policy for travelling with infant..as some dont fly babies under 15 days. HTH Thanks Glitzi......Planning to fly with EK and as per them baby should be above 7 days and above to travel. So i hope it shudn`t be a problem. Leaving the rest to God.

The peanut shell is safe and hasn't been recalled. The slings that were recalled were C-sling types. I'm a huge fan, my ds is now 11 mos and I still use it all the time. My only caveat would be that ds didn't really start liking it till he was about 4 weeks but that might have just been him too. I think that my peanut shell was the best baby thing I bought, couldn't live without it!

Cant praise the Ergo enough. Did not use it when she was a newborn, but its travelled with us everywhere and been so useful when I was flying alone (using the loo!). DD is going through a clingy phase now where she wants to be held all the time and it is saving our backs (literally) when we go out. Highly recommend it.

Hi ! Have u bought anything from Babysouq.com I saw the ergo babycarrier and carrier set options available in BabySouq.com. Link as below: http://www.babysouk.com/index.php?page=product_display&cid=4&sid=39&submenuheader=3 What do you think? Is it better to buy seperately (the carrier & infant insert) or the newborn set?Any other recommendations. Planning to travel with a NB (1-2 weeks old) TIA
