The performance one would seem to be the one to get for this climate, would you agree? Do the carriers pack small? Are they heavy? And how do you get your LO in it before going?? Thinking of getting one for traveling for our toddler who is difficult to control at airports, but no need for buggy for him... Thanks!

I think the ergo website says up to 4, and when we lived in manhattan, saw lots of mums and dad's out and about with bigger kids in ergo's on their backs.

Thanks txjuliet, do you think it would work for an older child as well? I think perfrct for ds2 who is the same age as yours i think, but ds1 is 2yr8mths, thinking of it as a back carrier for him... Yes might see if the babysouk ladies will let me try it , they're v customer friendly so hopefully they will...thanks

They are great. They pack small, are reasonably easy to get on (I'm uncoordinated and I can). Very light and I can take DS for an hour plus in it - he's 12 kilos. Highly recommend it. As for perf v original, I like the original better as it seems to fit more comfortably on me. The arm straps seem more padded. I don't think the fabric will make a ton of difference as almost everything is hot here. If you call/email baby souk I'm sure she would let you try both, she's great.
