Dear moms and moms to be -

I wanted to share my experience at the City Hospital with Dr. Elsa. I moved to Dubai when I was 7 months old and got an appointment ahead of time with Dr. Elsa based on this board recommendations.

I was a high risk patient with hypothyroidism (Hashimoto) and having 2 miscarriages and 1 ectopic pregnancy. My husband and I are very well read about the topic of carrying the baby and the pregnancy as we have tried for 3 years. Dr. Elsa is very detailed oriented. She wants the patient to know all details, and this is what we wanted. Every question we asked (medical or not), she responded with utmost professionalism. She has ability to calm down the patient even if she/he are very scared.

On the day of my csection (breech presentation of baby, scheduled for 2pm), I had high fever and upset stomach. I arrived at the hospital at 7 am and nurses contacted Dr Elsa. She sent a nurse to give prescription medication, and arrived herself in 15 minutes to calm me down. All went well. I had spinal. at 2:15pm I was in the room; and at 2:33pm the baby was born. Next morning at 5am, I was walking and by the evening all of my functions were normal. Now it is 1 month. The incision healed well.

Of course, the ease of my csection is due to the professionalism and experience of Dr. Elsa. She also takes care of the incision by using special herbal creme that ensures its healing.

Overall, I was very happy with the hospital, the doctor and the care I received during 4 days of my stay.

Maria

Tru Blue!! Wonderful news about twins. Having a baby is such a blessing. I am still staring at my baby girl and enjoying everything. I would recommend take clothes for 4 days and pampers. The bamby diapers they used at the hospital caused rush with my newborn. My DH bought premium care pampers number 1 and mustela body creme to treat it. All was good when we left the hospital. Also buy lots of apple juice for yourself; it helps with all functions after spinal. Milk wise - i am taking fenugreek to increase milk supply and taking ladymil powder to keep up with protein and vitamins in my body.

Ladies, in regards to spinal and fever. Dr Elsa reviewed my condition every hour. I was given 2 dosage of antibiotics. I forgot to mention that i also had strep b. By 10 my condition stabilized. I also took immodium for upset stomach. Spinal was easy: pain free.. Kind of funny as you feel something is being pushes from you but no pain. It is beautiful to see your baby right away. My husband was with me and cut the cord.

I couldnt have an epidural/spinal a few years ago in Europe as I had high fever during my labour . The Anesthesiologist told me he couldnt do the procedure because of the rik of infection . The "medical rules " seem to be different in Dubai ! I am curious as I will deliver in a couple of weeks for the fist time here !!!

aww thats a lovely post Dubaigirl11. Im pretty sure DC can also agree with you regarding her c-section experience with Dr Elsa just yesterday. Both DC and I have previously had Dr Elsa for the births of our sons over a year ago (natural births) and she was brilliant then too... hence why we are back with her the 2nd times around :D congrats on the safe arrival of your baby too.
