Just wondered if anyone else has felt like this towards the end of their pregnancy, i feel down a lot even though I'm grateful for everything in my life, nice house, wonderful family, supportive husband, i gave up my career months ago which was very high powered as was feeling very ill during the first trimester of pregnancy. The first few months being at home with my 6 year old was great, i enjoyed doing all the things id missed whilst working , socialized and till the last month now have been very active but recently feel like i want to withdraw and not see anyone. My friends all seem to be going out have a great time, other people starting successful careers who were recently housewives and it feels like a role reversal. I keep telling myself its not logical but these emotions are beyond my control, for someone who is so social in my last month of pregnancy i feel completely and utterly miserable. The fear of having another child i feel so guilty as its a blessing. Im grateful for all i have but can't pull myself out of this hole!!!! anyone else feel like this towards the end and feel resentment towards those friends who used to flock but now are so busy with their social lives i see them less. Advice needed...

Thank you Daza for your time and advice. i think I'm going to go to lifeworks and see someone a friend recommended. worse thing would be to ruin this whole experience by feeling so blue. hopefully tomorrow will be better. Good idea Penny4.Hope you feel better soon.

Had a call from my DD tonight and could barely hear her for sobs and hiccups. She has been bumped up the UK waiting list for IVF treatment and is delighted. She has been married for 4 years and been trying for a baby since day 1 with no success. She is 33. Realised that she had a problem and saw a gynaecologist early on. She starts her treatment on June this year. I am not one of these women who is desperate to be a grandmother but am so keen for my darling DD to have her wish to be a mum. Please cross everything for her ladies xx

That's really tough. Do you feel like you can talk to any of your friends about how you are feeling? It's probably the case (especially if you are normally a social, capable person) that they have no idea what is going on and don't want to pester you in case you just want to be resting. Don't feel guilty that you are feeling as you are. For some people it's a happy and exciting time, for others a scary and lonely time. There is no right or wrong way to feel. It's especially understandable feeling daunted if your first birth experience was traumatic followed by PND.

Thank you Daza for your support. Most days are fine but like today i said no to everyone and even a friends birthday. Its like dark cloud looming over my head when it should be a happy and exciting time and its lonely. All the people i used to see seem so caught up in their social lives dubai feels like a fickle place to be. I feel resentful that before baby when i was out and about they would call and text and now the world is moving on and I'm stuck. Also with my first child i got very bad PND as had looong induction and c section which was emergency and took a while to recover. Im not an attention seeker but if you have been a good friend to your friends surely this is the time they should realize i need them. I know its hormones but i feel so alone. Im sure this feeling will pass i hope....

I'm sorry to hear you are feeling so low P4T. It sounds like hormones going awry. I go slightly (ok, a bit more than slightly) nuts when I'm pregnant. I'm often on the edge of panic and feel a sense of impending doom. I also get very paranoid. It was the worst when I was pregnant with my second child and I got it in my head that my husband wanted to kill me. Which sounds ridiculous now as he wouldn't hurt a flea but I went through a stage of lying in bed just waiting for him to make a move. There was a part of me that knew at the time that knew how ludicrous my feelings were but I couldn't stop them. I understand withdrawing in the final month too. I think it's part of the nesting thing. I'm normally an avid follower of world news but in the last month of pregnancy I stop reading so many newspapers as it all seems a bit irrelevant. It all goes away as soon as I have the baby so hopefully that will be case with you too. Keep your husband in the loop and let him know if your feelings get worse. You're nearly there, hope you are feeling better soon.
