No worries Mrs_kpt I understand your concern. Thanks for the 2 leads for Healthbay Antenatal. Regarding Medcare, I have been there yesterday as well and hospital looks reasonable but only have 2 bigger suites (2 rooms set) rest all is single bed, which I might have concern due to many expected visitors, not a big problem if doc and hosp is damn good. Btw, my first cousin delivered a boy naturally in Medcare last year and she was praising their doctor and ante natal quite a lot. I think her doc name is Parmjeet Luthra (if it helps).

Anyone got any feedback on Medcare?? (sorry to hijack your thread OP but see you are asking about them as well). Am currently trying to decide whether to stick with Medcare as that is the only place my Dr delivers or whether to change hospitals which means changing Drs :( I've heard only bad things about Medcare and would love to hear something good! OP - we are booked into start Antenatal classes at Health Bay Polyclinic this week and also hear they are great. I've also been looking into Hypno birthing with Jasmine Collins, you may want to look her up if you are interested

City Hospital for sure. Forget management etc, They are very good, very well equipped, have great NICU - the blood bank is at Latifa round the corner if something goes terribly wrong (Im sure it wont but it was a comfort for me having my first) I used Dr Britt Clausson but many ladies used many others there so see who you like - all the info is on the site about the Drs and the qualifications etc. As for Antenatal - I went to Healthbay Polyclinic and they were very good

after searching last time with my pregnancy i went along with dr Andrea and took her antenatal package. But our reasons for deciding were different as we wanted IMH hospital and my gynae was a visiting doctor there,so some problems with the insurance company. The package was fine with all the scans and tests required and i didn't have to ask her anything extra ( but i am from the same field). you might have to write for more mums to write here :) As for govt hospital my friend is currently with the Latifa hospital and although you don't get a personal doctor there its fine so far. (whoever is on duty will see you) her detailed scan took only 15 min whereas mine took 55 min! By the way congratulations :) i am also due in august (8 weeks now) but havn't decided yet for which antenatal to go.

Thanks Kelly, will give it a fair try in evaluating them. Isn't Welcare and City hospital is from same company (Mediclinic) and have same management...? Will await to hear more other experienced Mom's.

city hospital gets my vote. great doctors, very thorough, good NICU if any problems. my doctor was always available to me during a very high risk pregnancy and i thought they were excellent.

Hi All, I am 4 weeks pregnant and was wondering which is the best hospital to get the antenatal package and plan my maternity. I have been using the welcare in past pregnancy which followed by miscarriage, so my faith in welcare this time is very limited due to their robotic behavior. They only did what we ask them to do and nothing else. So this time i started reading books: "What to expect when you're expecting" and realized that so many things need to be checked and i really doubt that in past welcare have actually covered all those points or at least the critical check ups. This book is quite detailed and comprehensive with 600+ pages and now I like to ask the women community here in Dubai that which hospital (govt or private) is good in terms of doing every antenatal checks by themselves, as we are not doctors and they should do the check as per the need and not based on our instructions. I was goggling ante natal packages for Med Care, Suleiman Habib, Al Wasl, American hospital, Aster etc. They look all same from the website and email descriptions, which is quite good. I like to hear from actual womens who have ever used these hospitals and which one they prefer or recommend to first time mom. I have a good insurance (Bupa-Oman) so the budget is not an issue and they have quite good limit available in hand being a gold class member, just need some good, trustworthy and reliable place to get started this time and everyone best wishes for successful and safe delivery. Thanks in advance.
