they say 1 kg per month....but honestly i hardly know anyone who only gained 9 kg. And overall drs recommend between 9-12 kg in total. i read the other day it also depends on the person, if you´re udnerweight before you get pregnant, it is natural for your body to gain more. i can´t remember with my son during the first trimester, but in total i gained 16kg!! I am now 16 weeks pregnant with my second and so far 2 kg. and the funny thing is i am on bedrest....and with my son i exercised a lot....you never know....

Honestly, dont worry too much about your weight unless you are going a bit tooo much overboard. WIth my first pregnancy, i put on 5kgs in the first trimester, this time nothing. Depends from kid to kid I guess. As long as you eat healthy, drink lots of water, u shud be good. :) Sometimes hormones go crazy and u put on weight.. cant do much abt it. Good luck!

gogi if i was worried i would just walk more to try and offset the amount your eating, but in all honesty it sounds like your on track, i seriously put on like 6kgs in the first trimester with both DD's. It all evened out in the end though so not to worry. :) Thanks Leshell! You really put my mind at ease. :)

Your right... I just have to get over my paranoia :( thanks! It's not paranoia if you've had problems in the past, but at least you know what to look out for and how to control it if it does crop up. In the meantime, relax and enjoy your pregnancy - stress is far more harmful than a few hundred grammes more than The Average (whatever that might be!)

well, what are you going to do if it was too much? Go on a diet?! 'Cos that's far worse for your baby than putting on a few hundred more grammes than your Dr "would like"... Eat a healthy, well balanced diet and what will happen will happen. In the UK they don't even bother weighing you.
