What age did you start to face your baby outwards?

It is not recommended up to a certain age due to overstimulation from what I can gather but our LO is very curious and does not like to be faced inwards anymore!

I have a stokke 3in1 and my 7 months old loves it. We've been using the facing out position for a couple of months. She was always turning her head when facing me, so there was no point using it that way. I go dogwalking or even shopping with her. If she gets tired she simply falls asleep. For my back it is actually much better than holding her because it's not one sided.

as the OP's suggested they are curious but its not good for your posture. and if you have ergo then its not for front facing. you know they are curious for only a few minutes and would happily settle back in the rear facing. try holding in your arms for few minutes then back to sling. i had to do that when ds was small. after few minutes he was happy snuggled to me. at 11 months old he likes now and again to put his stroller seat facing me rather then facing out. so sometimes while walking i hvae to change the seat first!

No, Harry was always trying to turn around, but forward facing was never an option with the fabric sling. We do however now have a back carrier so he can look where I'm walking. We got it a week ago. Harry will be 11 mths end of this week.

The ergo has a side and back carry option. But it doesn't have the forward facing option as Meagle rightly said, it is bad for you and your baby's posture.

I'd say do it if it suits you and your baby....i did it when my little girls could hold her head up herself, she was so curious facing inward she would constantly turn her head. I must admit it did hurt my back at first but i just adjusted the straps and it was fine....over time, as she put on weight i couldn't take it whether she was facing inwards or outwards, so i stopped. Hope it goes well for you.
