Hi
For those who formula feed babies, which bottled water do you use and do you boil it and allow to cool or just use room temperature? Which brand of water?

Hi, I use Volvic (it's expensive) but great for babies. No need to boil. Just warm it once you put it the bottle. Use a bottle warmer - don't microwave. The way I do is I sterilize the bottles for the next 24 hours - I fill them all with the appropriate amount of water and then they're ready to be warmed before each feed. Let the water get a little warm better you add the formula. It dilutes better that way!

Hi ladies, I have a 20 month old and a 2 month old fully formula fed. For both of them I used Masafi bottled water for their formula and they were both fine with it. I boil enough for roughly 3 bottles and leave to cool. If I am in the house I warm up the water in the bottle in the microwave for 20 seconds of so before I feed him. If I am out I usually just give it to him at room temperature unless I am somewhere where his bottle can easily be heated up. Hope this helps :-)

I looked into the different brands of water last year when my sister was coming to visit with her baby, hopefully nothing has changed too much as I didn't do any research this time ! DS has colic & reflux (nightmare) & figured it couldn't do any harm to boil the water. I boil it up & put it in a clean (put through the dishwasher) glass jug/bottle & use it within 24hrs. I don't boil for each bottle!

I'm mix feeding but introducing more formula only bottles. I've not been boiling, the MW told me I don't have to but I wondered if anyone else had been given that advice. Did you research the different brands of water? Why did you decide to start boiling? Thxs!

Hi Samie, I use Arwa water, it has one of the lowest sodium content in it. I didn't boil it initially but I do now, let it cool & then use it. I was exclusively BF until DS wasn't gaining enough weight so was only giving the occasional bottle, hence not boiling the water. Now he's on forula more regularly I'm boiling it. Probably should've been doing it from the beginning but hey ho.....he's fine! :)
