I just wanted to introduce myself since we will be heading over soon. I am 30 years old with a 2 and half year old son and a 6 month old daugther. I am currently living in London but orignally come from Texas. We are relocating to Dubai in September. I would love to make some new friends so my babies will have other children to play with.

All the best,
Britni

Thanks for your replies. I think we will be moving onto The Palm. We were there last summer to look around and check out nurseries and we really liked The Palm. Welcome! I'm not far from the Palm so if you need a freindly face when you get here then get in touch :) I'm 27 with an 18 month old and only just got here myself so always looking to meet new people :) Thanks YorkshirePud. I will get in touch when we ger there.

we're not sure yet, we arrive mid-end june (lo needs vaccines first), but we're looking for locations that have easy access to amenities such as metros or shops so 3 main areas of interest are JLT,Dubai Marina and JBR Walk. We need to finalize our apartment within the 1st week of our arrival as our furniture will be arriving soon after. This is going to be sooo stressful!

Hi Britni!! I'm somewhat in the same boat as well. Originally from Canada (born and raised) and will be moving to Dubai in June as well. I'll be moving with my husband and my firstborn son, 3months old. Kind of excited, kind of nervous as I've never lived anywhere else. Would love to meet other moms as well! Cleo4e, I am origally from Texas but I have lived in London for the last 5 years so I do know what it's like to live away from home but I am nervous about being even further from my family. Do you know where you will be moving?

Hi Britni and welcome! Good time of year to head over as you will just get the tail end of the summer, so you will be able to head out to the pools, beaches and parks with the LO's in no time. Do you have any idea where you will be living yet? There are lots of mums & tots groups around, and lots of activities such as swimming groups, dance classes, mum & baby yoga etc... it will be pretty dependant on where you are located but as long as you get yourself out there you will be sure to make friends for both yourself and your littlies! EW runs a Bumps and Babes coffee morning so check out the details for that on here too. Ask away with any questions you have, everyone here on the baby board is really friendly and very knowledgeable. Best of luck with the move!
