Just a thought: during take off and landing all passengers are required to sit in their seat, so if you sit in the front row at the window with a shawl or nursing cover placed strategically no one will see anything. Is your newborn already used to drinking from a bottle? this might be something else to consider because if not then you don't want to try out the bottle on the plane the first time

Hi there, I took as well some frozen expressed milk with me in Avent bottles. When it was heated up the milk just god sour, or something as it was split. Really weird. we heated it up so carefully to not spoil the nutrients and vitamins. At the end i was breastfeeding in the plane ( no other choice) they provide blankets in most planes and i did bring a cover as well just in case. I was never a public breast feeder , but in the plane it was actually no problem at all. good luck!

I was shy about BFeeding in public, so I froze expressed milk in my avent bottles and heated it directly in a tub of hot water provided by the crew. I had no problems at all with immigration. But to be honest BFeeding the natural way was much much easier, and as the space is confined no one looks at you at all anyway. We have many mums feeding all over the aircraft every day. You don't have to bother waiting for milk to defrost. I found an udder cover very handy. Good luck :)

Hi all - flying back from uk and I want to take some frozen expressed breastmilk with me to give him bottle - specially for landing and take off and to reduce the amount I need to breastfeed in public as not too comfy! Pls advise best way to do that? Do I thaw the freezer bags at home and prepare them in bottles to take and if so hw long can they last in an insulated bag? Or do I take frozen bags and sort on plane? Any probs with immigration? Thanks in advance! Hi, in uk, you will be asked what is it and to taste it. lol I am not sure how you are going to take frozen ones into the aircraft but do check how long bmilk can stay in room temperature. ( totally forgot, can't believe it as DD is only 2!!) Anyway, what i did when DD was newborn was to pump just before I leave for the airport and use that for take off. I did feed DD in the aircraft after 3 hours and pump another bottle for landing. I did bring my battery operated pump into the flight. lol Good luck. Hope other posters may help with your query. S
