I was diagnosed with PCOD, was obese and no diet worked for me. I was around 85 kgs. I regularly used folic acid, and was on treatment approximately for 1 year. No matter what I did I couldn't lose the weight. I read somewhere that if you are trying to get preganant, dont diet, just light exercises. I did that, plus added a lot of butter and eggs to my diet, as my doc said its good for healthy eggs. I was on Glucophage and Aspimed. There is a ***-timetable as well (!!) I know!!). Every alternate day from the 10th day of your period, until the 15th day (i can't remember now!!)...And for 4 months I was on Clomid, and whoa..i got pregnant. Was initially very worried, so took extreme care and worked from home etc, as I had a slight bleeding episode at 9 weeks. long story short....i had my precious baby boy late January..and everytime I look at him....I can't stop that feeling of gratitude.... I know its a downer going through that initial waiting phase, but dont give up..and dont think of it as a task. Its very stressful, trying to get pregnant, seeing other people with babies etc....just make sure you stay positive...the phase will pass.... Good luck

My sister had a BMI of 36 when she conceived her first, so it's definitely possible! My doctor told me if you have any fertility issues caused by weight, losing just 10 per cent of your body weight can make a difference so it might be worth a go if you think it might help.
