How do you know...(Teats with more flow question)

My girls are 5 months old (but 3 month adjusted age as they were preterm).
I have been using the 0m, 1 drop Avent teats so far. But I was wondering how I will know if they are ready for the more flow teats? I bought the 1m, 2 drop teats, but am wondering if its okay to switch or will the flow be too much.
How do you know? Or do you switch every few months to more flow?
