Just curious to know - for those lucky ladies who got a positive result, how many hcg blood tests did you have before your Doc was happy to confirm pregnancy?

and for those who are about to start a cycle, in the middle or on their 2ww - good luck x

Hi GG, Please dont worry about the pains (although I know its so much easier said than done) but I had exactly the same thing until maybe 7 weeks or so. I was convinced AF was on her way due to these pains as it felt EXACTLY like that - even down to the back ache I used to get every month but this is apparently just bubs getting comfy so please dont worry about it too much. Yes, you will worry - Im 19+3 today and still worry - so I think this is just part of the process, especially after all we went through to get where we are. They dont always do more than 1 test so not to worry there. If they are happy with your level for your dates, then there is no need to carry on monitoring your levels. They will check at the scan in a weeks time. Its very exciting! Let us know how you get on!

Congratulations Gray girl! That's great news. I'm keeping everything crossed you see what you want to at the scan. Remember my story though, we didn't see what we should have etc and then at 7 wks healthy heartbeat. I had awful cramps at 8wk 6 days and was convinced that was it but did scan and all fine, think it was just stretching or something. Hope the next week goes fast and stop googling! Easier said than done, I know, I did the whole time and still do!

Girls, thank you for all your replies. I've actually had two blood tests 48 hours apart - both of which were positive (eek!) and after the second my Doctor told me to return in 2 weeks - now one - for a scan. I was convinced that they do more than two to ensure the HCG keeps increasing so was a bit worried! Freaked myself out yesterday (I should throw this laptop out of the window because I keep googling!) as I had period-like pains all morning and was convinced something bad was happening. It's very early days - 5 weeks - and I don't know how I'm going to cope, what with being such a worrier and I daren't get excited yet ... but I'm excited! Confusion, I did my full cycle in Jordan this time (2 unsuccessful performed here in Doha) and it was such a different experience - for the better. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get your BFP soon xx

Hi, I just wanted to drop in with a quick note of well wishes and good luck! I am now almost 5 months pregnant with our first baby after TTC 4 years and IVF. That 2WW was a beast. Though I tried waiting, I began using at home tests about 5 days after transfer and used 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening - even AFTER the doctor's office had confirmed as I just could not believe it! It's a tough journey and once those babies are conceived, they will be the most loved of all :) Stay strong ladies! It's hard enough going through the first trimester in a place I had just arrived to - we moved to Abu Dhabi just 2 months ago. I can't imagine the strength it takes to be far from home through the IVF process. :-)

Hi Gray Girl, I had just one test at 15DP3DT. At that stage, they didnt ask me to come back for another but scheduled a scan for me 2 weeks later so I was just gone 6 weeks at that stage. Good luck!

My dr was happy to confirm after one as high score but for my own piece of mind I went back for a 2nd and 3rd and wish I hadn't as it wasn't doubling. Had early scan at 5 wks which showed gets. Sac but no yolk sac so thought was blighted ovum, then went at 7 wks to see a healthy heartbeat, I'm now 22 wks pregnant. I guess sometimes all the early checks we have with ivf can cause more worry as in my case. Good luck x <em>edited by Awayfromhome15 on 16/07/2012</em>
