How to tell if baby has allergy to formula? Help please
I gave my 9 week old twins their first ever formula feed at circa 1030pm last night. The brand was Bellamys Organic. Both drank it without any fuss. For their next feed circa 3am, I gave them bottles of expressed breast milk. I fed them in the dark so didn't take a close look at their faces and didn't notice anything was wrong.
This morning when they woke circa 6am, both had very pink warm faces and puffy/swollen eyelids. I have food allergies myself (to the extent i carry an epi pen with me) and seeing them both this morning I instantly thought they'd had an allergic reaction. The only culprit could be the formula I fed them as all they drink otherwise is breastmilk. I also have a tub of Aptimal I thought I'd try tonight instead of giving them Bellamys but am petrified they may have another allergic reaction. What if it's more serious and I don't notice until too late??
Anyone been through a similar thing or have any advice?
