Hi Ladies,

I'm on my fourth month now and I'm planning to give birth in International Modern hospital. Has anyone delivered there? How was the experience? Are their doctors nice and friendly? are their services costly? Thank you.

Thank you ladies for your feedback. :) I am now seeing Dr. Amala Nazareth of Prime Medical centre and she delivers in IMH.. I will visit the hospital hopefully next week to familiarize myself with the facilities and the services they offer. Im so excited since this is our first time.. thanks a lot! :)

I delivered there six weeks ago :) I agree with Mona75 about the nurses. It is my first time and they confused me with breastfeeding positions and timings. They didn't have a lactation consultant. But other than that they were very nice and helpful. I chose it because my OB, Dr. Andrea delivers there for now and I LOVE Dr. Andrea! I had a natural birth: as Dr. Andrea has her own clinic, here how payment went for Delivery: 7000 dhs for hospital and 5000dhs for Dr. If it were c-section, we've been told it would be: 15000dhs hospital and 8000dhs Dr. We didn't use epidural after all, so price not included. It was not a bad experience. You should go see the delivery floor and they ll give u a tour :)

Hi, I delivered 2 babies there and going to deliver the third one there as well next year. I chose it because of Dr. Andrea as we have the same opinion of giving natural birth and not getting forced into a c-section. Dr. Andrea still deliveres there but has a private clinic now in Jumeirah 1. The rooms are very good and hubby could sleep there as well as there is a welcoming room in the "suites"with a big sofa. Support of the nurses where great, but sometimes a little bit too much. The only problem I had at the beginning, that I got confused with advices regarding breastfeeding. A lot of nurses come from different cultures and some advice you to wake up your baby every 4 hours to breastfeed at the beginning, even there is no milkflow yet and the other ones advice you to let the baby sleep. You should make up your mind what you think is best before. It is a small and very familiar clinic. What I find very good, that they respect your wishes if you strictly want to breastfeed or if you only want to get your baby bathed with clear water. I believe a normal birth is around 8500 DHR, and there are prenatatl packages for the check ups you can book if you go with one of the doctors in the hospital. I hope that helps.

One of my friends delivered there 3 years back. She was happy with docs and services. They've got a private suite with welcome room and room for the mother & baby (bathroom en-suite). My friend paid through insurance, but I did check the costs when I was preggy (1 year ago) and it was coming about 10,000 for normal delivery if I am not mistaken.
