thanks meagle. I have made him sleep forcefully again but i am wide awake :) i'll take him outside tomorrow and would let him run around so that he is happy and tired. i did let him sleep for 2 hrs during day. beach is the best place for him to run. edited by angel joy on 28/10/2013

No, I think you did the right think trying to make him sleep last night. He's clingly because he's groggy and confused. Lots of outside time during the days to reinforce it's daytime and not time of sleeping can help, too.

It will take about one day for each hour of time difference. So, if you were in Toronto for example, you are looking at a readjustment period of 8 days... i hate long trips!

he goes to sleep at 2 am for 2 hrs. after that from 11am-6 pm! i tried waking him day before yesterday but he cried for full 1 hour and kept on making his sign of sleeping :( and went to sleep while i was playing with him. yesterday i made him sleep forcefully for whole night, from 12-4,then 5-8. but he is very clingy and dull today and God knows why angry too! was this the wrong move?

Wake your baby. Naps no longer than 2 hours each during the day until baby readjusts to the time change. Yes, it may seem cruel, but it's the only way. Both my kids have adjusted back pretty quickly using that rule. We typically end up with early wake ups and starts to our day for a week or 10 days, but they do adjust back. I'll take 5am wake up over up all night any day!
