This isnt a cry for help - just want to share what I've been doing with DD (14 weeks) and see if there is more I could do to improve her waking time.

She's always been a good sleeper (with 6 hours stretches etc). Never had her on much of a routine until about 2 weeks ago where she naturally fell into her own. I found it to be a softer version of Gina Ford - apx 45 min morning nap, a longer afternoon nap (anywhere from 1.5-2hrs), another 45minutes or so late afternoon/early evening and she's usually down for the night by 7:30. We're not strict on times, but rather timing (eg, sleep every 2 hours rather than 10am sharp). I also started her on formula about the same time (she was EBF before). She's a trooper - took to formula and bottle right away - will still BF, no confusion etc.

We're happy with this "routine".

Im curious if I can extend her morning waking time though. She's down at 7:30/8pm, and generally would have had a bottle in the hour or so before that. I do a dreamfeed at 10:30/11 to which she adapted quite easily, doesnt wake, right back to bed. She then continues to sleep until about 5am. I believe that if not for the dream feed, and considering her bedtime she would wake at 2am. I dont feed her at 5am, and she doesnt cry or seem hungry. But she wakes up nonetheless. Sometimes its as simple as a caressing her and she'll fall back asleep until about 7. Today, she stayed awake until 6:30 and then slept again until 8am. (We both did!)

Is it the sun? Her room is dark but not blacked out. Will she gradually sleep later as she gets older? Just wondering if anyone has been in the same boat?

She sleeps in her own room. She was in a moses basket in our room until about 11 weeks.

Thoughts? Or should I just count my blessings?

In my experience, if I don't feed my baby at around 3am, he will wake at 5am and not go back to sleep (even with a feed). Earlier bedtimes often them sleep longer (not what you'd expect). His room is completely blacked out but we still have an issue with early waking, its seems to be the hardest to fix out of all sleep problems.

if she sleeps 6 hour stretches and goes down at 19h30, that would mean a natural 01h feed (the worst time of the morning imo, but still!) and then she would sleep another 6 hours until 7h. In theory. Maybe it's the dreamfeed that's knocking her sleep-cycle earlier? Apart from that, it seems pretty normal (apart from the "only one night feed" part - grrr, lucky thing!), and if you're happy with it, then that's that.
