labial adhesions?

ladies... for those of you with infant girls... has your daughter been diagnosed with having labial adhesions? the doctor at the government healthcentre diagnosed my 4 month old daughter with this during her 4 month vaccinations/checkup and said that this will need to be treated with a clinical procedure whereby the tissue in that area will be spliced... it sounds horribly painful and unnecessary but the doctor said it needs to be done... i'm worried sick... has anyone had this done? any feedback?
