Hey Ladies,

Was wondering if anyone else is suffering from leg cramps????

I try and keep as active as I can to help prevent them, I think its something to do with my nerves or blood vessels but they are becoming very uncomfortable now. They come as go very fast, like a split second but they are not very pleasant :(

Does anyone have a cure or any suggestions?

Thanks

It is very common in pregnancy,,, so dont worry.. I ,ve suffered from it almost every night during my first pregnancy. The best thing to do is whenever you have one, stretch your leg and move your foot toward you. It will improve immediately.

I don't think you should be taking extra pills for leg cramps. Try to do this exercise http://www.google.ae/imgres?q=leg+cramps+exercises+pregnancy&hl=en&sa=X&biw=1280&bih=899&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=A9BWFF6pnsaUqM:&imgrefurl=http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/medical/IM04524&docid=SIxPO2knWeY2dM&imgurl=http://www.mayoclinic.com/images/image_popup/mcdc7_legcramp_pg.jpg&w=400&h=571&ei=HYMzT4PLMo6zhAeE4cWfAg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=528&vpy=520&dur=649&hovh=268&hovw=188&tx=126&ty=196&sig=105408352640584824295&page=2&tbnh=176&tbnw=128&start=22&ndsp=28&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:22 before you go to bed. It works very well for me :)

I take Calcium / Magnesium tablets too - advised by doctor (here) and naturopath (in Aus). I was taking one but meant to have been taking 2... so up'ed it to 2, still got cramps so naturopath said 3 is ok. Plus need to drink loads of water. I'm drinking about 4lts a day... I drink a 1.5lt at dinner time / just after and if I don't drink that (as I have found out this week opting for a pepsi instead a couple of nights ago) then I suffer so badly with cramps in my legs every time I turn over at night time. Up'ed my dose to 3 tablets a day and back drinking the water at night time too. We have just recently put our A/C back on in our bedroom too so a combination of not drinking enough water, the ac and not having enough of the tablets probably hasn't helped. I take the brand Osteocare or Calcicare (white box with blue and black writing I think) ... something like that.

Hi, As mentioned below i was prescribed calcium Magnesium softgels by the brand Bluebonnet by my OB when i mentioned to her i had leg cramps. Think they have helped but i have also changed my lifestyle a bit so not too sure :) i am still working but am trying not to stand up straight still for long periods at a time as i did in the beginning and it was always after those days i got the most severe cramps. My doctor said it may help but there are no guarantees. Worth a try though for you. Good luck.
