Maclaren Triumph at Babies R Us is different from other stores - does clasp matter?

Hi all,
I did A LOT of research and decided that I needed to spring for the Maclaren Triumph as my convenient umbrella stroller now that my daughter is in a toddler caraway. I priced it at Mothercare (dh 750) and then went to Babies R Us tonight and saw it's dh 50 less; so I bought it at BRU and when I got home, found it has a cheap clasp instead of the heavy duty one that the Triumph had in all online research I've done and the one I test drove at Mothercare. After some googles, it turns out Maclaren makes a special version for BRU and that includes this cheap feeling clasp that I'm sure my kid will be able to open soon enough.

My question is: is the circular clasp a great feature for parents whove used the thing in real life? Or am I ok to just keep the BRU one I have. Should I try to return this one and spend yet another add 50 for the fancier clasp at Mothercare? I thought that the round clasp was Maclarens signature...

I really feel like kind of a sucker. Caveat Emptor, but this is ridiculous. I knew the brand AND model I wanted and still feel like I was taken!

Thanks Ymo and alimart for the comments. I have convinced my husband that he needs to take me back to Toys R Us this weekend to return the thing. And then to Mothercare to buy another one. It's hard to find information outlining what exactly is different, and I can feel with my hands that the clasp is for sure much flimsier and cheaper. So I don't know what ELSE might be junkier too. Anyway, that was the pitch and he said ok. Need him to keep myself calm as I face the inevitable Dubai Customer Service Deficit when I (try to) return the thing. Fingers crossed there isn't some stupid no-returns policy that applies here. alimart - be careful with older models. Maclaren had an issue with hinges that led to a wide recall of many of their models. Check the production date on the box is 2010 or later.

Hi, I have a triumph which I got from baby shop and it has the round clasp. I checked out the babies r us website and I see what you mean about the cheaper clasp. The round clasp is really hard for a child to open. My child has never been able to get out which is great but it's hard for me to open too which I don't mind. I do think the round clasp looks nicer and understand your point. You can just return the BRU one and get it from mothercare if it's what you prefer.

I found exactly the same thing as I wanted the Quest and the clasp on the one at Babies R US was different and some safety feature on the sides was also different. The lady said it was just their old model and they hadn't got the new one yet with the new clasp? They did have much better colours though than babyshop, I ended up going with the babyshop one but its still in the box as I'm waiting to see if I can find a black one somewhere!
