Thanks for asking! I have waited all weekend to find out if the eggs fertilised, and will call them in 20 minutes to find out. Fingers crossed. I was very tired on Thursday with some cramping but fine on the weekend except for the underlying anxiety. Will update shortly

Ladies... so we did egg retrieval! It was very positive because they extracted 6 eggs (2 not great quality tho) and my Dh finally produced a good semen sample. So now a nailbiting waiting whilst our bits play in the lab over the weekend. It wasn't painful at all and Conceive staff was fantastic. But I did find it very undignified. All that close scrutiny and really, they have to recline the bed so my head is near the floor and feet to the ceiling? But a small price to pay at the end of the say. I realised today that I am earning airmiles on my IVF payments!

Hi Hilsbils, Been following you and confusion and just wanted to say best of luck for tomorrow. I think your with Dr. Munira? She was my doc too and cannot speak highly enough of her, she is amazing. Anyway, I had a retrieval on a Thursday and we weren't sure whether we were having a three or five day transfer so she smsed me to let me know their progress I think on the sat and to tell me when the transfer would be as I needed to know for work purposes. So much luck, you're in great hands with Dr. M xx Thanks so much. She is a real lady isnt she? And yes., I feel like I can trust the process with her. Up early and getting ready to head out. Holding thumbs that there are eggs ready for retrieval! xx

Thanks so much ladies. I am feeling the love ! Gatorade !? Cool. I'll get Dh to buy me some. He has a bottle of water and a snack for when I come round. I drink so much water that the fast will be a challenge. Did you find out right away what the chances are of fertilisation? I am not sure how we will focus on the weekend wondering what is happening to our little things in their petri dish. Will hold all thumbs and toes. Excited though!

Hilsbils - Good luck with your retrieval tomorrow! I had mine yesterday. It will all be over before you know it :) one thing that really helped me recover from both times I did egg retrieval was to get plenty of rest and drink lots of gatorade - don't know why that works but it does!

Oh Hilsbils! Yes, it's a triring old process and very physically and emotioonally draining process. I was going to Conceive from Dubai about 3 times a week early morning so I feel your pain ;) Exciting times though that your egg retrieval is tomorrow. Please don't be anxious about it at all as you dont even feel it and you will be absolutely fine. The staff at Conceive are lovely and will look after you very well indeed.:) All sounds normal to me and yes, I got the leaflet re the hair and the fasting etc too. Like I said before please try not to worry, the only thing that worrying will change is the outcome for the worst so please don't!!! All sounds as though it is well on track for you. I have everything crossed for you - please let me know and STOP worrying.... Hugs and baby dust xxxxxx

Helllooooo. Thanks so much for the thoughts. We have told no-one else so its nice to be able to e-chat. Its been a tiring week. I chose to go in to the clinic every day for the injections and so back and forth. They are doing egg retrieval on Thursday !!! Tonight we have an injection at 9pm "sharp" according to doc, and tomorrow no more injections. It seems we have one egg at full size and maybe 3 or 4 other eggs may be ready by Thursday morning. Retrieval on day 12 of my cycle. Does that all sound familiar ... normal? Have to fast over overnight tomorrow and remove all hair! Its been a roller coaster. I keep worrying that the eggs wont be right and that the fertilization wont happen....and that they wont implant etc etc. Ill mail you tomorrow xxx
