Hi there,

I have been looking for a table of vitamins and elements RDA for DS hoping that I would find something issued by WHO but I am only able to find endless documents of different studies etc, nothing in the succinct form of a table. A lot of USDA and US Govt issued documents but not WHO.

Would you know whether this exists and if so where I can find it?

I thought of asking you because you always refer to them in your posts so I thought maybe you know their website well :)

Thanks and Happy Weekending!

Oh thanks kiwispiers! You always so efficient and reliable ;) will have a look through it all but definitely would not be too reliant on 1998 guidelines for developing countries. To be frank this was my main challenge in their website, they seem to have many studies but most of them based on countries which may have large deficiencies in many aspects. I will have another look at the USDA stuff again but not all that find of them, especially since they have been in the headlines for the ammonia in minced meat scandal ...

I found this http://whqlibdoc.who.int/hq/1998/WHO_NUT_98.1.pdf pages 95-96 but this is for "developing" countries and from 1998. :( I would be inclined to follow whatever guidelines the USDA docs suggest, a lot has changed in regards to things like vitamin D etc since 1998. The WHO nutritional publications for infants are here http://www.who.int/nutrition/publications/infantfeeding/en/index.html, under "complementary feeding" if you want to wade through it all ;)
