You can get a temporary (but legal) temporary live-in Maid from an agency like Howdra or Explorer. It is 4000 a month (well, it was 12 months ago when I needed extra help). It's quite expensive I suppose but it could be good while you are sorting yourself out. You may find after a few months that you can do it on your own.

If able for it, start looking for a nanny straight away we have resisted having one for 2 years, we struggled for 2 years then now we are very happy with the nanny we have. it is not very easy to find the right one though. hope all goes well for you.

Congratulations Cknilssom I am already in Dubai, have a 16 month old daughter and also expecting end of March beginning of April. There's a huge culture here for Nannies/Maids however i decided to go against it. I couldn't tell you about prices as I have never looked into it. As i am a stay at home mum I thought it would be best to do it the old school way and take care of my children myself. Ofcourse if I worked then the situation would be completely different. I enrolled my daughter into a nursery for four hours a day...this time gives me some me time. I can prepare dinner, meet a friend, tidy up or even get pampered....before the second on pops out. Also decided that my first needs to learn how to interact with children too as she seems to be a jealous one. Upon my due date, both sides of our family will take it in turn coming here but my routine will stay in place...as soon as i found out i was pregnant i decided to move my first to her own room and enrol her so she would not feel like shes being replaced. I'm hoping she will feel only little has changed. If you think your defo going down the nanny route then i think most people look asap because although there are loads of people available you really want to make sure you take our time and choose the right one. Hope this helps. Good luck on your move

I have several questions for you moms. I am moving in late January and am expecting in mid April. I already have a 17 month old daughter. I wanted to avoid getting a nanny right away and see if I could do with out any help but am seriously doubting it at the moment. Right now I work full time as a nurse in the US. When my husband and I move there I will be a stay at home mom which will be a huge change. My mother plans to come a few days before my due date. She will only stay a couple of weeks because if her job. Last time I had a c section and will more likely have one again. What did you do if you had a similar situation? Or I am open to advise. If I happen to have the baby sooner then then due date my husband will have to stay home with my daughter till I come home from the hospital. Are babysitters common or do people mainly have nannies to do this job? Also I would not be able to pick up my daughter from about 6 weeks if I do have another c section. Would it be possible to find help just for one month without costing a fortune or should I go ahead and look for a live out nanny as soon as I arrive? I am in desperate need of some advise!
