So, I went to the pharmacy to get some motion sickness bands for morning sickness and they rang round all the branches and no one has them. Instead they gave me Navidoxine. Can anyone confirm that this is safe 100% for sure during pregnancy? I am really against taking medication but its getting to the point where im struggling to keep fluids down so I need to do something. Seeing my obgyn on Sunday......
i got from boots last weekend from ibn battuta and they had 3 pairs left. better to call them first. navidoxine is completely safe as my gynae has precribed it to me too but i am not taking it as even after that i felt the same.so no use taking meds. it is different for every person if you feel better then go ahead and take it.
Also meant to say they have travel sickness bands in the pharmacy in the Dubai London Clinic Jumeirah branch as of yesterday (yes I'm using them too!!).
Hi there I've had severe nausea for the last couple of weeks and was just prescribed this yesterday. I had the very same concerns and was quite worried about taking it (especially as this is my first). Anyway, in the end I took it as just felt so dreadful - today has been the first day I've felt ok in weeks so I would say do take it - it seems to help and from my internet/other research seems ok. Didn't feel more tired than normal (although I've been so tired lately it is difficult to tell)!!
Forgot to say- it can make you really sleepy and groggy.
Hmmm if it stops the sickness its a good trade off...I'll make sure I just take it at night then. Thanks for your advice
I took it in my first pregnancy from 5 weeks until 30-something weeks, and this time I've been taking it since 4 weeks. Meclizine (which is one of the active ingredients) is rated as a Class B drug for pregnancy, which means it's generally considered safe. However, as with any drugs during pregnancy, it's always best to speak to your Dr before starting to take anything. If you're still looking for the travel bands, I saw some in the pharmacy at Spinneys Town Centre not so long ago.
I hope you start to feel better soon, pregnancy sickness sucks :(
It is definitely safe to take during pregnancy. Many of us mums on EW have used it during our pregnancies. It worked a treat for me ;)
Hope you feel better soon, morning sickness is not fun!
Thank you. I think I'll risk popping one then, can't take much more of this horrid nausceous feeling all day :(
