Done a test this morning and negative :( It's 4 days before my period is due, has anyone had a negative then but a positive a few days later? Yes! My last three pregnancies I tested early. One, I got a positive the day before I was due, it was my first test. The one before last and the latest one I got a positive the day I was due - I started testing three days early. You can't get a definitive no until the day you are due.

I've been taking prenatal vitamins everyday. May look into folic acid too! x Prenatal vitamins should contain folic acid so no need to take more. I take Pregnacare which has 200% of your RDA of folic acid.

Try stay positive and not to put any stress on yourself as that will make things worse. 3 months really isn't a long time. My husband has been trying to soften the blow for me already as he knows what I'm like. I'm so impatient though I just want to know if and when it's going to happen. Got quite a few pregnant friends just now, if they can do it surely we can too?! Back2Blonde/Pookie are you taking any vitamins? I've been taking Pregnacare and Omega supplements, bit clueless as to whether those are enough.

In the same boat as you ladies! 3 months and nothing yet. I know that it shouldn't get you down when the period starts, and each time I promise myself i'll be fine if it does, but I just can't help it. Bought a thermometer today and going to start charting!

Oh I'm sorry to hear the dreaded period arrived! Defs a long shot to fall pregnant first time, especially if you've been on the pill for a while. That's what I'm telling myself anyway in the hope of not getting too upset if it doesn't happen this month. Loving all the trying though :)

Cosmogirl - Can imagine how nervous you must be!! wishing you all the luck xx I got my period over the weekend unfortunately :( The funny thing is I had severe tummy pain and a very heavy flow - also started 2 days before expected date! Anyway now gunning for next month ...needless to say DH is loving it ;)

I went and bought a pregnancy test last night!!! Eeekk!!! It says the test can be done 4 days before period is due so that's Wednesday. Nervous! Pookie have you done a test yet?

One additional advice: Use the digital tests. I found out 3 days before AF was due, I was using the regular tests and going crazy seeing imaginary lines on them lol, with the digital one it can tell you earlier than regular tests and its a clear + or -

yes with both of mine the nausea started within days of conceiving, but I'd wait until a week after the dd of your period to test and then wait another month at least until you see the Dr. good luck :) edited by kiwispiers on 28/11/2012 Kiwispiers, you have the patience of a saint! I'm up at 5am weeing on the stick on the dd of period when I think I'm pregnant! LOL I said you "should" wait, I didn't say I did wait! ;)

Thankyou lovely ladies...your advise is invaluable! Cosmogirl - Wishing you tons of luck for this month! Its also our first month of trying which is why I am surprised that it could happen so soon. I am also more queasy than actually sick and can smell stuff from a distance. I have been having this really terrible lower back ache too, which is similar to what I get before my period but far more intense. Honestly now I just want to know and get done with the suspense.....half the time I wonder if all my symptoms are psychological. A few more days.....

Pookie I'm in the same place as you right now, trying to conceive and counting down the days until my period should arrive and hopefully doesn't. It's our first month trying and i know it can take a while but think I'll be pretty upset if my period arrives. I've noticed I've been needing to pee a lot more but I'm thinking its probably psychological. Good luck, keep us posted x

I love your username Pookie1, I call my children Pookies and I'm currently pregnant with Pookie4. When I found out I was pregnant with my first I practically ran straight to my doctor to have it 'confirmed' but she pointed out that 3 positive pregnancy tests was confirmation enough and there was nothing else she needed to do! You can have an internal scan very early but as another poster said, it's not very nice. Since my first I've waited until 8 weeks which is when an external scan will show nicely. With all of my children I've had a rolling sort of nausea that starts at least a week before my period is due, fingers crossed it means the big + for you too!

Thanks Amy Aus - that is indeed a lot of information :) We are trying not to get too excited at the moment and waiting to first miss my period and then do a test. We have good maternity insurance cover so will be going to a private hospital. I tried to book an appointment with City as I know they have long waiting lists and was told that the soonest I could see Dr Elsa was in April 2013!! :) LOL about JESS and school lists.....so much more to digest before I get to that stage! Will keep posting as banking on the lovely ladies on this forum big time for support. Thanks DB- Im hoping its a positive too...really excited!

Hi All I am a regular reader of the forum but havent posted before. We are TTC and whilst I am still a week or more away from my next period, I am beginning to feel nausea everytime I eat something. Can this be a symptom? And can it really start this early? My next question is what if I do miss my period and then do a test and its positive...what are the next steps? How long before I actually go see a doctor or register at a hospital. Many thanks in advance...just feeling very lost on this one. Thanks :)
