Hi ladies,

Is there anybody who had a normal delivery in Dubai after a C-section?!

Because it looks very difficult to find a gyn over here who wants to take the risk, even if you got a great pregnancy...(went already to see 5 different gyn's)
Back in Europe I know they don t do a 2nd c-section if it is not necesssary...

Can somebody give me more info please...

Thanks
;)

Hello! I had a VBAC with Dr Marcus at Welcare, 14 months after a csection with my (premature) first baby. No problems despite me being a fairly risky delivery. So so so much nicer than a C! xxx

In my home country strangely there are only a handful of gynaes who would risk their professional insurance on this but here it is very much standard practice as long as the scar is more than 24 months old. I had a very successful VBAC with Dr Rosalie Sant who is extremely competent and careful. No reason you can't go for it if there are no risk factors :) So much nicer than a C/S ;) ETA I had the opposite problem initially - I wanted a C/S and was amazed to find no-one would do it! edited by Aryanwynn on 23/11/2012

Hi Mommy2, A friend of mine who lives in Abu Dhabi recently had a VBAC done by Dr. Koster here in Dubai. She said that everything went well. Might be worth investigating? Good luck!!! Dr Elsa at City will be happy to do a VBAC if you want and if there is no medical reason not to - I elected a ELCS for my 2nd but she did discuss the option of VBAC! Dr Elsa is wonderful and delivered both my children! (via ELSC - first Transverse Lie, second my choice of ELSC) I can't recommend her highly enough!

I recently had a vbac, in doha not in dubai though. I wonder though if the fact that you had complications with healing last time will actually make them deem you more high risk, as your scar may be weak and more likely to rupture during labour?

Thanks SAH for the info! Will try to get appointment with Dr. Taylor!! Hope it will work out! Hi Laura, yes that s also what I heard... but I would like to try a normal delivery first, if there are no complications of course...otherwise its definitely a C-section. I hope not because my first C-section was a really really bad experience, infecting, tearing all the time, etc...it took me 2,5 months to recover :-(

Yes, exactly I heard pretty much no one will do a normal birth after one c-section. I think it's even difficult back home, but here, it is very similar to the US, they are very risk adverse and afraid of any liability if something were to go wrong, so they always go with a C-section

I recommend Dr. Taylor or Sleiman habib. My friend had a VBAC there. Best of luck
