panic about Doha nurseries

I'm coming to work in Doha later this month and I need to get my little girl, 7 months, into a nursery pretty much straight away. However, for enrolment, nurseries seem to say they need a copy of the child's residence permit as well as the parent's. My employer has told us we are to come in on a tourist visa and the children will have to just renew the tourist visas for a few months until we can get a family residence permit. Has anyone had any experience of what is required for enrolment or how long children's residence permits take? Thanks.
