Hi Purple, thanks for the response. I called my insurance company; and according to them anything which comes under 'registration' or 'package' is not covered by insurance. They will re-imburse only after the treatment is complete, not for payments in advance. With Al Wasl, a package is mandatory, correct? This was the case for us...although 2 yrs ago and we were also pay-as-you-go, we were told they don't payout anything for AlWasl until after delivery and discharge.

Thanks for the response Purple. I will check with the insurance company whether they can reimburse the package after delivery, but something tells me they may just not do that. Am so bad at dealing with insurance companies anyway :(

Aaah, I never got a package as I delivered before that rule was made. We went 'pay as you go' but we never claimed any of that as I was also going private and claiming there. We did claim my 1 month stay there, the c-section and some other charges, and the insurance covered all. Will your insurance pay the package part if you claim it after delivery perhaps?

I dont think it matters which insurance, you need to pay, get a proper receipt and claim back. Had 2 babies there and this is how it worked then. You could call al wasl and ask to speak to accounts. <em>edited by Purple on 04/12/2011</em>

Has anyone paid for Al Wasl antenatal package (AED 5000) using their QIC- NAS Insurance card? I called up the clinic close to my house and the lady on phone told me they don't accept QIC-NAS insurance.
