Thanks for the advice! I just started some bio-identical progestrone pills yesterday and I started taking folic acid about a month ago. I did some blood work and found out my LH is out of ratio with my FSH which isn't a good sign. I'll be speaking with my doctor about it more tomorrow. I haven't been tracking my ovulation but we stopped using protection in mid February and nothing has happened so far. :( I'll look into the book when I'm in the U.S. in August.
Thanks again for all the tips. I didn't realize how many things have to be exactly in place to make this work.

Hi Babs, congrats on stating to ttc.
I have an underactive thyroid too but got pg 3 times very quickly thanks to FAM - the fertility awareness method. It just involves taking temps and monitoring other sign to figure out when you're ovulating. Would strongly recommend reading Take Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler which explains it all really well. In fact it's a fantastic book! The Old Library have a copy if you're interested.
Good luck and have fun x
Thank you for that advice! That makes me feel better. Did you use synthetic progesterone or bio-identical progesterone cream? I'd like to stay away from synthetics as I hear they are really bad for you. Also, do you know of any good gyno that I could try?
Thanks again! :)
progestrone is a very common treatment given here in dubai by nearly all docs. i had PCOS and was given progestrone along with folic acid to concieve naturally. so fell pregnant in 3 months :) usually docs wait for 6-8 months and then they start on femara to help you get pregnant. i didn't started femara and concieved before that. you just take appointment of a good gynae and consult her. mostly gynaes' here recommend concieving naturally if you are not in a hurry .
Hello!
My husband and I would like to start trying for a baby but I have hypothroid (being treated) and may have low progesterone. I will likely need help to get pregnant but I want to try some natural things first. For example, my friend (with similar hormone issues) started using progesterone cream and became pregnant just two months later.
Does anyone know of any doctors in Dubai who work with bioidentical hormones to regulate hormones and prepare to help with conception??
Any advice would be really appreciated!
Thank you!
